Ways To Get Involved
House Sponsorships
Building a home with Habitat for Humanity of Marion County typically costs around $150,000. Any donation of $2,500 or more towards a specific house construction project qualifies as a house sponsorship. Lending Partners
Lending partnerships provide a unique opportunity for banks to collaborate with Habitat for Humanity of Marion County, helping local families with limited incomes secure decent, affordable housing while fulfilling their Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) requirements. By partnering with us through the purchase of qualified Habitat mortgages, banks can help us leverage assets to build more affordable homes for more families in our community.

Florida's Corporate Community Tax Credit Program (CCTCP)
The Community Contribution Tax Credit Program (CCTCP) offers an incredible opportunity for Florida businesses to receive financial incentives while supporting community development and housing projects for low-income persons. By participating in this program, businesses can receive a 50% tax credit on their donations, making it a win-win situation for both the community and the business.
Any corporation paying Florida corporate income tax or insurance premium tax or a business that collects and remits sales tax to the State of Florida.
Eligible contributions include cash, property, and goods donated are eligible for the credit.
- Businesses can receive up to $200,000 in tax credits per tax year.
- Unused corporate tax credits can be carried forward for up to five years.
- Unused sales tax remittances can be carried forward for three years.
- Each fiscal year(July 1 to June 30), the legislature sets a dollar amount for available tax credits.
Yes, businesses can sponsor a Habitat home under this program. The value of the donation is calculated based on the appraised value of the new home, excluding the land. Some qualifying companies use this program to fully fund a Habitat for Humanity of Marion County home. This provides significant advantages to both Habitat for Humanity and to the company. Sponsorship of a home entitles the company to signage and provides an opportunity for publicity. It also allows Habitat for Humanity to provide affordable housing to yet another family in our region.
200 volunteer hours are required, providing the company a team-building experience like no other. It is possible through this program to have a significant amount of your donation returned to your company through the tax credit.
Habitat for Humanity of Marion County will assist your business every step of the way. From documenting the agreement to scheduling Team Build days and preparing necessary paperwork, we ensure a smooth process. A House blessing will be held upon the completion of the home, with special thanks to the sponsor for their generous donation.
